 | Yeppers....."tracker.kali.net:2213" in the space next to "Kali Tracker. I left 2213 in the "local port", and restarted Kali?......"Bingo!!"

I run WinXP though, so not puter literate enough to help anyone with the newer OS's. |
 | long time lover of this game. Tried to install it but the patch wont work on my 64-bit os (windows 7 and vista) was wondering if someone had a fix or an edit to make the patch work since campaign mode keeps crashing on me =/ please email me at drallabx@live.com if you have a solution for this. thank you. |
 | I am glad you were able to run CWG on Windows 7 64 bit. I have not been smart enough to figure out how yet. Can you help me some more? I've tried reinstalling, patching, starting from a window - I've gotten so confused and aggravated that I don't remember what I haven't done.. |
 | Trubol here. Howdy folks. Is anyone still playing on or visiting Kali? Last time I was here I mentioned working on a Java version of something similar to CWG2 but had to slow down because of work. An army marches on its stomach and so do part time developers who have to work to put food on the table. I'll be hanging out at Kali so I hope to see someone, ANYONE there. |
 | I'd like to start playing CWG2 again (Played 1&2 but only against comp) but don't know how. I would appreciate somone who is currently playing it on Windows 7 64 bit to e-mail me and help me get started. Thanks!

 | I cannot get started on my Windows 7 64 bit. I tried the suggestions below but no luck. I really could use some advice/help. |
 | Well I discovered the game will run on my Windows 7 64 bit computer by not starting from a desktop shortcut. You have to start it from a window. Ie- after you download the game, DON'T start from a desktop shortcut. Open the folder that contains the game and start from the application file there. I can't seem to get the patch to work but at least I can play. Still waiting for a cwg3 or similar. It's a shame the trend is towards 3d graphics. |
 | I had this working on Windows 7 64 bit with the help of a friend. He told me to do a registry edit and it worked fine. I had an issue with my pc a while back and I had to restore. As soon as he teaches me again I will post here. |
 | I had the same problem with the North vs South battles. Yet when I tried them on another computer with the same operating system, they worked.
|
 | I have this working on Windows 7 64 Bit, but when I try to play the 18 North vs South battles, no units ever appear on the grid, and after 1 day of cycling through turns, the game crashes. Anyone have any idea? |
 | Where are all the CWG2 players these days? I would love to pick this game up again |
 | Oh and, virtual in XP, playing in win 95 mode. Screen only moves with cursor in up & left directions. Again, Thanks for any help |
 | Hello All. I have Vista 64-bit. Couldn't install game. I downloaded virtual pc 2007. I installed game, and played a little bit, but the screen doesn't move with cursor (and it shows the cursor and the sword...?). Any help or ideas would be greatly apprecaited. This is an all time favorite game of mine and wouldlove to play it with it functioning properly. Thanks, Jeff |

nedjolley wrote on Mar 11, '11, edited on Mar 11, '11 Kali has been down all week. They have it fixed now but the tracker port has changed. When you open Kali go to File/Settings/Advanced and then type in "tracker.kali.net:2213" in place of Kali.net. If you have any problems go to the WWW.kali.net and look under news.

 | (Sorry for the typo, yes it's wing32.dll)
I did not try to run setupwig. I just put the [single 13k] file in the aforementioned folder and the game played after installation. I did not get my wing32.dll from this site though... not sure if that makes a difference. |
 | fallennorthstar, can I get a step-by-step of the way you put the wing32.dll into the c:\windows\sysWOW64\ ? I downloaded the wing32.dll file posted on this site, unzipped the file, then extracted it into c:\windows\sysWOW64\ . I still cannot get it to run the SETUPWIG file from there and it givesme the same error as before. Help?? |
 | Long time player first time poster. I am looking for Uniform mods and other additions that improve both the look and playability of the game. Specifically I would like to see variations in uniforms (sharpshooters in green, Zouaves etc.) |
 | Hey everyone. I played this game a long time ago and picked it up again, but I too now have Windows 7. To get it to work, you'll need to download win32.dll from a secure site and then put it in the folder c:\windows\sysWOW64\ Can't say if there are any long term issues, but I would guess not since win7 did not have this file, so therefore it's not being replace (and should not interfere with other programs or the OS). |
 | Hey Guys. Ol' Longstreet here...any word on how to get this to play on a newer computer running windows 7? Been missing you guys! |
 | Sir I don't think you will be able to play in your new system. Most of us that are playing online are still using XP or earlier programs. I have seen a couple of post here and there about various fixes and workarounds but I would not even attempt to try it as I'm dumb as dirt. The easiest thing to do is look in your local paper and find a used computer with a older operating system. I bought one this summer for $100 and it plays good. That's probably your cheapest/easiest thing you could do. |
